Call for Speakers and Topics for iBlog6 10

Posted on January 19, 2010 by Administrator

Hello everyone. We are now gearing up for iBlog6: the 6th Philippine Blogging Summit. In this regard, we would like to invite interested speakers to submit their names for consideration as a resource person for iBlog6 and/or submit a topic proposal for consideration on or before January 31, 2010.

iBlog6 is targeted to take place on April 16 and 17. The first day will focus on Blogging for Business (entrepreneurs, corporations, non-government organizations, and similar entities). We would be pleased to receive proposals on topics that can help businesses better understand how they can tap blogs as a marketing and promotional tool, and how to work effectively with bloggers to achieve that purpose (i.e. through events, contests, advertising, and the like).

The second day will focus on topics of interest for Bloggers in general, such as introduction to blogging, use of photos and videos, blogging policies, and blog promotion. We are also interested in discussing political blogging, election coverage, and building offline blogging communities.

Submit your name and topic proposal on or before January 31. The approved topics and final agenda as well as speakers for summit will be posted on the 1st week of February.

Thank you.

[Lazyweb Request: right now the files are organized by the order they were recorded on tape. My computer's too pokey to splice and join the multi-megabyte files so that they're neatly arranged by speaker/session. If someone can help me massage the files that way, that'd be great. Some mirroring and torrent setup for these big heavy babies would also be appreciated.]

Reasons why we blog 5

Posted on May 23, 2005 by Administrator

One blog that has caught my attention is Hazel Marie’s blog post on “Reasons why we blog” inspired by Dean Alfar’s talk during the iBlog event.

We encourage you to share your “reasons why we blog” story and may it inspire those who are still contemplating about it.

Speakers’ Presentations Part 6: Connie Veneracion aka The Sassy Lawyer 1

Posted on May 11, 2005 by Administrator

Bloggers are an unusual bunch. They share their inner most secrets and thoughts but keep a safe distance from their real world audience. On-line personas so meticulously crafted might crumble under the weight of real-world contact. And so, when The Sassy Lawyer was introduced at iBlog, it was Connie Veneracion who took to the stage and faced her loyal readers. This was a virtual reunion but also a real world first meeting. The warm reception marked by cheers and loud applause confirmed that The Sassy Lawyer had touched the lives of most of the bloggers in attendance.

I must say she didn’t disappoint.
